ŹRÓDŁO / THE SPRING

Projekt opisujący lubelskie zdroje uliczne, których w samym mieście jest ponad 100, zakładający ich artystyczną eksplorację i zwrócenie uwagi na publiczny dostęp do wody. Powstały dotąd dwie publikacje skupiające się na dzielnicach Sławin, Sławinek, Szerokie (zrealizowane w ramach programu Dzielnice Kultury) i Stare Bronowice (zrealizowane w ramach Pracowni Rewiry)

It is a project describing Lublin public water springs, which there are over 100 in the city itself. It is focused on artistic exploration and draws attention to public access to water. So far, two publications have been created focusing on the districts of Sławin, Sławinek, Szerokie (within the programm of Dzielnice Kultury) and Stare Bronowice (within the activities of Pracownia Rewiry)

ATLAS OF SOUNDS

Atlas dźwięków to spektakl, który jest kolekcją historii połączonych wspólną perspektywą – wrażliwością na doznania słuchowe. Pokazują prywatny świat, przedziwne kolekcje, niemożliwe archiwa. Każda z opowieści toczy się w innym tempie i opowiedziana jest innymi środkami. Podróżujemy w czasie i przestrzeni, wsłuchując się w skorupę ziemską, która przechowuje resztki pozostałe po naszych przodkach.

The performance is a constantly changing collection of stories that share a common perspective – sound. Showing private world, bizarre collections, impossible archives. Each story has it’s individual tempo, and is told by different means. We travel in time and space, listening to the earth’s crust, which stores the remains of our ancestors.

WALDEN

Tytułowy WALDEN jest stawem w środku lasu, nad który 4 lipca 1845 roku wyniósł się Henry David Thoreau i gdzie mieszkał w samotności przez następne ponad dwa lata. W projekcie staje się on symbolem miejsca odosobnienia, a jednocześnie ucieczki od doskwierającej rzeczywistości. Miejscem, gdzie w spokoju można przemyśleć i przetestować nowy model życia.

Walden to tak naprawdę opowieść o konieczności decydowania samemu za siebie i świadomym życiu wobec natury, państwa, czy cywilizacji, zwracająca uwagę na uważne słuchanie świata.

Spektakl oparty na powieści Henryego Thoreau, przywołujący również jego traktat O obywatelskim nieposłuszeństwie, nawiązuje do konwencji XIX-to wiecznego teatru pudełkowego. Jednocześnie operuje nowoczesnymi środkami z pogranicza sztuk wizualnych, sztuki dźwiękowej i teatru. Całość pozostaje statyczna, jak na, popularnych w XIX wieku, panoramach, stając się swego rodzaju ilustracją dla akcji rozgrywającej się w warstwie dźwiękowej częściowo nagranej i odtwarzanej, częściowo tworzonej na żywo.

The title WALDEN is a pond in the middle of a forest at which Henry David Thoreau built his cabin and moved into it on July 4, 1845, and where he lived alone for the next two years. In the performance it becomes a symbol of a place of seclusion, and escape from the overwhelming reality. A place where one can think in peace and test a new model of life.

WALDEN it is a story about self-reliance and about necessity of a conscious approach toward nature, state and civilization. It also draws attention to the sensible listening of the world.

The performance, based on the novel by Henry Thoreau, also referring to his treatise on Civil Disobedience, is inspired by the convention of the nineteenth-century box theater, expanded with live, performative plan. At the same time it operates with modern means crossing the borders of theater, visual and sound arts. The picture remains static, as in the 19th century dioramas, becoming a kind of illustration for the action taking place in the partially pre-recorded and partially created live, sound layers.

IMAGINARY LEXICON OF CLUJ

Imaginary Lexicon of Cluj is a project based on the idea of performative book – a publication, that attempts to describe a specific place on earth, at the same time compelling the reader to the constant movement and interaction. It is a kind of city guide – an atlas, in which reality is mixed with fiction, while pointing to the fact that what we consider to be historical facts are often presented with a very polarized point of view.

So what is the truth and how to reach it? Perhaps by trying to catch the spirit of place, by recessing in the untold stories inherent within each of the residents? What happens if we mix those stories with what seems to be a historical truth?
